Robert (Bob) D. Frankfort is a respected litigator for both defendants and plaintiffs with over 50 years of experience in the field. He fulfilled the dream of opening his own private practice — now general practice law firm, Frankfort & Koltun — more than 35 years ago, where the focus has been on driving positive outcomes for the clients they represent. Prior to opening his firm, Bob defended insurance companies for 17 years, making him a uniquely seasoned expert with remarkable insight into all sides of the industry.

Bob specializes in civil and commercial litigation and has successfully prosecuted and tried cases in a wide array of areas. This includes diverse areas of personal injury actions inclusive of motor vehicle accidents, wrongful death, medical malpractice, product liability, and labor law. Other specialties include commercial litigation and estate practice. He has also filed and argued numerous cases, on behalf of the Appellant and the Respondent, in the Appellate Divisions of the State of New York and has appeared and argued before the New York Court of Appeals (the highest court in New York State).

Over his career, Bob has become widely known as a highly effective communicator, listening to each client that walks through his door. Bob prides himself on procuring the most information out of that initial meeting and walking away with a strategy for the immediate next steps to ensure maximum compensation. Whether a case is large or small, Bob works arduously for each and every one of his clients. As such, both corporate and private clients have repeatedly turned to Bob for representation.

Bob holds the following credentials:

  • Achieved Distinguished rating by Martindale-Hubbell®, for high professional achievement. Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ are the foremost standard-bearer for attorney ranking for over 100 years.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of New York and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) and Eastern District of New York (EDNY).

Bob began his journey into law with a B.S. in Business Administration from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. It was here that he mastered the art of communication and how to apply this skill to the corporate world. He then attended the University of Michigan Law School, graduating in 1964. These two prestigious institutions helped shape Bob into the hard working attorney that he is today.

Bob is happily married, with two adult children and six terrific grandchildren. Bob has always been a sports enthusiast and loves staying active. He was a competitive tennis player and is now an active golfer. Bob has always been an avid reader and presently enjoys going to movies, theater, and concerts.
